A free and creative underground or off movement is not so easy to establish in Germany with its regimen of cultural sponsorship and regulations. The dance theater ensemble Cordula Nolte has made it. They have been presenting in-house productions on a private stage of a historical gym in Dortmund since nineteen ninety eight.
Performances are staged at varying times during the annual season, normally late winter, of a particular production. In credit to their passion, audiences have constantly increased and response in the media continually remarkable.
Members of the ensemble dance for joy, not money and productions deal with sociopolitical topics and themes.
