Stunning theme parks can be found in the Ruhr region

The people of Ruhr love to enjoy themselves. And with some five million residents waiting to be entertained, many famous names have set up home in the region.

Wonderful recreational and amusement parks have been created here for young and old alike. Study creatures of the sea, experience giant building blocks from childhood or bathe in the glorious atmosphere of Hollywood, for instance. The whole family can have fun.

Top Secret

In this exhibition, eighteen extensively staged sections shed light on agents, their methods and intrigues. In an exciting and informative visitors learn all there is to know about gadgets, technological developments and achievements of the secret services, stories, legends and present-day espionage.

Industrial Heritage Trail

Over some 400 kilometres, 25 highlights and 16 vistas, the Industrial Heritage Trail weaves its way through marvellous countryside, urban areas and former industrial production parks. Discover fascinating recreational zones with museums, experience centres and events.

Ruhr Valley Cycle Route

The Ruhrtal Radweg offers 230 kilometres of cycling with a difference along the valley of the river Ruhr. Whilst Winterberg in the east is high enough to offer skiing during the winter, the town of Duisburg in the west is famous for Europe's largest inland harbour.

Sea Life

Discover an enormous and fascinating underwater world at SEA LIFE in Oberhausen. Across an area of around 4,000 square metres, some 20,000 ocean-dwellers in 50 huge aquariums can be admired.
