The Tour de France is coming to Neuss in 2017. The infamous cycling race is an institution that has been held for over one hundred years. Over the last few decades, organisers have experimented with short trips ouside of France. Now it’s Germany turn once again, with the 2017 race departing from Düsseldorf and the Rheinland region.

Day 1 of Le Grand Départ of the iconic Tour de France 2017 will be staged in Düsseldorf. Day 2 will again commence in the state capital then spin out to the east, circle back to Düsseldorf and loop out north and west. Passing through Neuss and other nearby towns, cyclists continue on their route south west to the Belgium border and on to the city of Liège.

A French village on the Freithof will create an atmsphère Français while events on stage at the Markt are planned to entertain enthusiasts.

Many interesting sights will form the backdrop for TV viewers across the globe. Düsseldorf, Mettmann County, Erkrath, Mettmann, Meerbusch, Neuss, Kaarst, Korschenbroich, Mönchengladbach, Niers, Düren County, Jülich, Alsdorf, Würselen, Aachen all present their best images.

This is one of those rare occasions when public agencies can cooperate on a larger project to create an impressive image of the whole region. This unique opportunity is also being utilised by Neuss to host many topical events.

Periodical updates following. Let the show begin!
