Learning a language can be great fun or, for some, be seen as a challenging task. The access to society in Germany and the ability to understand the culture of the new or temporary home is a huge reward.

Whilst German is quite complex, it possesses and understandable logic. For Asian nationals the language can be quite a tongue twister. UK or US nationals may have learned at school, eastern and northern Europeans grasp it quickly. For some, the use of English in the corporate environment can create a major challenge to learning.

Easy, basic knowledge is available at the VHS and the Goethe Institute also offers interesting courses. Many private and more individual alternatives exist too.

German for Fun

We've all been there, standing in a foreign culture pointing, gesticulating and hoping to be understood. Germans mostly speak at least some English. However, some may wish to carry a few words with them for those awkward moments.
