Pubs in Düsseldorf
Written by Garry on

The variety of pubs in Düsseldorf is quite extraordinary. The traditional local German pub (Kneipe) tends to be very down-to-earth with friendly, communicative folks from the neighbourhood (Nachbarschaft) mingling with out-of-towners. Most serve home brewed Altbier (old beer) while one serves the lighter brew from Cologne known as Kölsch.
A surprising number of Irish Pubs are available for those with a taste for Guinness or Murphy’s.
All open late, most also serve food both in the evening as well as at lunchtime. Some are more pub than eatery, others more eatery than pub.
