Part of the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen, the stunning collection of 20th century art at the K20 was started in 1960 when 88 works by Paul Klee were acquired. The country’s first regional collection focussed on modern art was born. The museum moved from Schloss Jägerhof to the stunning new building on Grabbeplatz in 1986. This property was extended and extensively modernised then reopened in 2008.
