The most recent venue of the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen is the F3 on Mutter Ey Strasse.
This protected building was the first of its kind in Germany to be erected specifically as a gallery. With its Intricate, interlocking architecture constructed in a puristic style, the art venue opened during the winter of 2009.
The F3 Schmela Haus complements the work of the Foundation as an experimental rehearsal stage and a space to reflect on the future, thus responding to current artistic developments. An important exhibit was Joseph Beuys during the opening. At present focus is placed on events and discussions.
