The people of Düsseldorf are justifiably proud of their city’s vibrant cultural life. A real kaleidoscope of events, performances, shows and festivals, Düsseldorf boasts an extensive and presentable list of cultural institutions. Along with nine theatres there are eleven museums and a large number of smaller galleries.

They range from a sea-life museum to a film museum, from the arts collection of North Rhine-Westphalia, which hosts works from the 20th and 21st century by Paul Klee, Joseph Beuys, Mark Rothko or Andy Warhol, to such curiosities as a mustard museum.

For lovers of classical music, opera and jazz, Düsseldorf is a veritable feast. From chamber music recitals to rap, hip-hop and rock concerts, the city offers something for everybody virtually every day of the year.

Going Out in Düsseldorf

Going out in Dusseldorf is fun and the so-called Rhenish lust for living infectious. One hub of entertainment is the old town (Altstadt) with door after door providing visitors with apparently the longest bar in the world. Some of the bistros, restaurants, cafés and great clubs are second to none.

Malls in Düsseldorf

Arcades and malls in Dusseldorf are mostly installed into the existing architecture, often weaving in, around and through to the next street. They offer the latest and quaintest in fashion, caffeine top ups and food plazas. The purpose built Düsseldorf Arkaden in Bilk offers more open and spacious shopping.

Economic Development Düsseldorf

With a combination of pro-business policies, low costs and a skilled workforce, Düsseldorf is the perfect location for investors. The Office of Economic Development offer "plug and play" services while expats form an integral part of a population that has grown by 22,000 over the past few years.
